South Padre Island is at Latitude 26.06 N and Longitude 97.24 W. Fort Lauderdale and South Padre share the same latitude and ideal climate.

South Padre Island, Texas' premier beach resort, is famous for the sub-tropical climate that makes it a perfect year-round vacation and meeting destination. Mild semi-arid weather means lots of sunny days, and while cool north winds may blow for a day or two in the winter months, the winds make for better deep-sea fishing.
